The orchard will be open for the season September 10th!!
In 1978...2200 trees, ranging from 18 varieties, were planted to create Apple Valley Orchard. By 1984, the apple trees had matured enough to be opened to the public for pick your own apples. Additions such as a salesroom, cold storage, and a packaging room were created in 1987 to accomodate the orchard. However, the growth of Apple Valley didn't stop here. In 1998 a barn, housing a variety of animals, as well as walking trails were added in order to provide an environment for families to enjoy after an afternoon of picking. The newest addition came about in 2001, a bakery was built onto the salesroom. Along with apple picking and the walking trail, families can enjoy fresh baked pastries and cookies.
For the past several years part of the orchard has been renovated in order to make room for new varieties, those which have been sought after by all apple pickers. While the orchard does specialize in apples, we do have already picked pumpkins, corn stalks, miniature gourds, and Indian corn cobs.
